Date 4 - Lacrosse with a Lady

Not that kind of lacrosse.
Ok, so it turns out that the laughably few things that I thought I knew about boys are wrong.
I figured most boys like sports, beer, uncomplicated situations and easygoing company, right? Nope. I could not convince a single guy to come to the lacrosse game with me on Saturday night. I had a free ticket, no strings, no obligations, nothing but fun, stadium beer, non-stop music and a wonderfully athletic spectacle to enjoy. No dice.
Thanks for nothing, rom-coms! (Yeah, I'm talking to you, Fever Pitch!) If gender stereotypes can't be trusted, what can?
Luckily I know awesome girls who love sports, beer, uncomplicated situations and easygoing friends. It was splendid. Best date yet! I didn't worry about what to wear, I didn't feel anxious, I didn't imagine an endless series of things going horribly wrong. Just met my friend, we talked practically nonstop, drank, cheered and laughed and did the wave. We shuddered in unison at the screechy-voiced hellion in the row directly behind us.
When discussing dating strategies over drinks with Giovanni the night before, he stipulated that I could count lacrosse with a gal pal as a date if we used the opportunity to hit on our fellow sports spectators. Unfortunately we were surrounded by families, so that idea did not fly. But we did take the opportunity to go through the single guys in her extensive contact list to try to drum up future dates for me. So I say it counts.

More like this, but indoors
Did it push me outside of my comfort zone? Not really. But after coming up empty on what I thought would be an easy and great date idea, I needed something fun and positive. Tonight was exactly that.
